Indygal in Sri Lanka

This is the blog I updated nearly every day during my three month stay as a volunteer in Sri Lanka. I lived there from January to April 2008 and the blog tracks the change in me from hating it to loving it and never wanting to leave!

Welcome to my World

Won't you come on in .... am only saying that because blogger suggested this might be the time for me to welcome you!! I started blogging in March 2007 as Indygal. It was a political blog because I was standing in the Scottish Parliamentary elections for the SNP (Scottish National Party) in the constituency of Glasgow Springburn. I don't know if it's a female thing or just a "me" thing but the political often strayed into the personal. And some people loved it whilst others cautioned against it but I never gave away anything too personal. I have mastered the art of appearing to be very open whilst remaining very private!

In January 2008 I came over to Galle in Sri Lanka to work on a voluntary project for 3 months. I knew it would be one of the most significant experiences of my life and I wanted to document it, thus this blog. I hope you enjoy reading about it.
